Crowning the best martial arts style for fitness is almost an impossible task. There are many different types of martial arts that have been practiced for thousands of years, and martial arts has made an impact all around the world. We’re going to go through the most effective martial arts that you can try at our studio and try to settle this long-held debate. Let’s do it!
1. Martial Arts
We offer a general Taekwondo fitness class that is kind of a little bit of everything, and all of our students love it. You’ll learn how to practice self-defense properly, have a great time with fun-loving people, and break quite a sweat, too. We start with conditioning, move to new skills and drills, and finish by cooling down and recapping. You will get sweaty in this class – so if you’re a beginner to martial arts in general and looking for the best martial arts style for fitness, our martial arts classes may be your best option.
2. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a different form of martial art that’s practiced around the world. It involves more groundwork and leveraging your body through physics and motion to fend off an attacker, who may be bigger and stronger than you. BJJ is super popular when it comes to women’s self-defense, too. BJJ also takes the cake on groundwork – that means a lot of working on your core! All who desire shredded abs, attend a BJJ class. It might be the best martial arts style for fitness for you.
3. Muay Thai and Krav Maga
Muay Thai and Krav Maga will both kick your butt into the next town over. Our Muay Thai classes are excellent for competitive fighters, as there are plenty of opportunities to compete. Lots of punching and kicking and using your elbows and knees to attack as well. Krav Maga is more of a boot camp style of teaching as it was originally taught to Israeli soldiers, so it’s super practical for real-life fighting. Both Muay Thai and Krav Maga are intense forms of training, and you’re sure to get a fantastic workout in each class. That said, the best martial arts style for fitness is dependent on whether you want to compete and use elbows and knees, or if you want to focus more on real-life self-defense applications.
4. The Verdict
Our verdict? All of our karate fitness class offers excellent physical fitness and skill-building opportunities. However, there are some key points you should consider when looking for the best martial arts style. Are you looking to fight any opponent, even ones bigger than you? Go with BJJ.
